the main feature of an ebook reader is the e-paper display, which not only gives incredible battery life but makes reading the display much easier than a backlit lcd screen. I have a Sony PRS505 Ebook Reader and believe me tablet PC’s are no substitute.
What do you mean other manufacturers “waited for the Ipad”? its basically a tablet pc, and most other manufacturers have been making tablet PC’s for over a decade.
Seriously people are just getting exited because it’s from Apple. When I first saw it with it’s form factor and price I was impressed with it, then I saw the terrible embedded OS and poor specs and it was a big let down. If it ran OSX and an Atom CPU it would have been far better.
domdom87, you are right that it would be nice if it ran OSX, but I honestly do not see anything that my eeepc does that the iPad will not do. So how is it not a computer exactly?

Theres a lot I would have liked from this that I didn’t see, (A camera facing the user and more importantly the ability to use an image editor as powerful as Photoshop) but I think I’m gonna buy the 32gig without the 3G anyway, and hang onto it ’till what I want gets put in the next gen. It may not have a camera but it at least has a decent finger painting app. Which I suppose will do for now.
I will say though that this video is terrible and that guy kind of creeps me out. Lol his face @ 2:16
anywho I wasn’t sold… I rather buy an OpenPandora device which costs less, can do as much and has a keyboard…
i wouldnt buy this, for now, u know they will make it with more memory and thinner
no camera/webcam?…it needs one so it would be cool if it had a mirror application..ill wait for the next model…this one sure got bugs like the first iphone.

im kind of mad they arent making a different app store for the ipad applications because its just gonna slow it down for people on their iphones and ipod touches. and another thing is that it must be impossible to type on.. tablet PCs have keyboards for a reason
the guy typing couldnt even fit his thumb on the screen to press the spacebar. and you always have to rest it on your legs like they did when you type, but what if your on a plane? or anywhere else that theres no room to do that?
